Nolan, Sprowl & Smith: Firm Overview and History

The firm of Nolan, Sprowl, & Smith was founded in 1946 by Nicholas F. Nolan, a tough and respected Irish lawyer who served as Dayton Municipal Court Judge and as Montgomery County Prosecutor from 1935-1945. The firm started in the Third National Bank Building in Downtown Dayton and is known for its many partners and associates who became judges--William Wolff, Sr., William Wolff, Jr., James Brogan, Robert F. Nolan, Patrick J. Foley, and John Meagher.  Milton L. Sprowl served for many years as an acting judge at Dayton Municipal Court and a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee. Robert Hickey, a state representative, was also associated with the firm for a number of years.

The firm carries on the tradition of Nicholas Nolan and many members of the firm who were dedicated to representing families and businesses. Nolan, Sprowl & Smith engages in a General Civil Practice with an emphasis on Estate Planning, Probate, Taxation, Real Estate, Family Practice, Creditors Rights and Commercial and Business Law.  We are thankful for the confidence our clients have placed in us over the years. We serve clients in Montgomery and Greene Counties and throughout the State of Ohio.

At Nolan, Sprowl & Smith we help clients plan to ensure that their needs are met in the event of their death or disability.  Our staff can help create a plan specific to your needs to ensure that your loved ones will be provided for.  Not planning for the future can have serious consequences.  A modest investment now in an estate plan can help avoid the confusion and costs incurred by failing to make a plan.  If you don't make your own arrangements, someone will have to make them for you, and who makes these arrangements and how they are made may not be to your liking.
