Nolan, Sprowl & Smith: Firm Overview and History
The firm of Nolan, Sprowl, & Smith was founded in 1946 by Nicholas F. Nolan, a tough and respected Irish lawyer who served as Dayton Municipal Court Judge and as Montgomery County Prosecutor from 1935-1945. The firm started in the Third National Bank Building in Downtown Dayton and is known for its many partners and associates who became judges--William Wolff, Sr., William Wolff, Jr., James Brogan, Robert F. Nolan, Patrick J. Foley, and John Meagher.  Milton L. Sprowl is now retired and has served for many years as an acting judge at Dayton Municipal Court and a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee.  Robert Hickey, a state representative, was also associated with the firm for a number of years.

The firm carries on the tradition of Nicholas Nolan and many members of the firm who were dedicated to representing families and businesses.
